further more, and still on driving

it's a big travel week end. sure sure . but ya' know what burns my ass? I mean other then a candle about 3 feet tall ... pause for effect ... seriously though.. it's these radio "journalists" shall we call them .. who for whatever reason, try to speculate whether or not "america will stay home" or travel due to Gas prices .. back to My point .. we're a consumer nation .. we will consume. Big Oil will charge us whatever they want because we will consume. Sure some single mother from some suburban burrough, won't be able to drive her kids to N.C. .. uhmm.. bboo hooo .. one less car on the roads this holiday week end .. ya' know what, traffic's still gonna suck! Still gonna be thousands upon thousands of ppl who are able to go somewhere, and will try. nothing the local media, or big oil can do to stop it.
We'll all spend way too many hours on the road, even if we're just going to work . . We'll all spend way more then we should on gas. We complain, but will any of us do anything about it? uhm nope
we'll be stuck in rush hour for what seems like days .. and we'll suffer road rage, flip off total strangers because they are trying to get in front of us... and all in all burn alot more fossil fuel then any one nation has a right to, all because the government says we can have an extra day off this week end .. nto exactly what our founding fathers had in mind. And for the countless heroes who have died defending this once great nation, and it's ideals ... I really don't think that any of us are doing them justice.
Not a sermon, just a thought. Be well, Be safe, and if it's at all possible people be loved.
I know I am, and for that I am, and will be eternally greatful.

you ppl that drive hummers are planet killers and should all be shot alongside the Escalade drivers.

First thing to come to Mind

Lots and Lots of talk about "how do I save gas?"
well ppl .. from My point of view there's a couple options.
First, and this is a personal note, but uhm, can we destroy all
Cadilac Escalades?? Please .. Please .. let's just melt them all down, and
recycle them. Okay sorry, that's out of my system now. In particular,
I see lots of questions going either way about the AC .. Look Ya'll back in the
70's and 80's well went to great lengths to get a few more horses out of our old world V_8's
and one of the things we did was to take the AC units right out of them. This usually got us about a ten per cent increase in horse power. Now, and this is where it starts to confuse alot of ppl, We only would see that increase in power, when we "nailed it" .. meaning when we drove like crazy lead foots. If you've always got to be the first car to the next stop light, and you don't understand that it's okay to accelerate slowly, then sure, leave your AC off. Or, if you just have to drive an old carberated V-8, from like the 60's, or 70's then by all means do not use the AC! But if you do those things anyway, then for whatever reason, you probably don't care too much about the price you pay for gas. Heck ya'll back in the day, there were those of us who got our cars so souped up that we had to use Jet fuel, sure it wasn't legal, or smart, but wow did we get where we were going fast .. LoL .. heck that tree never even saw some of us coming.
But seriously on the part of our gas prices, it's really just a self perpetuating cycle, sure the rich are getting richer, sure the "dubya" is in bed with big oil. But it's our nature to allow the rich to get richer, it is indeed the ultimate goal of a capitalist society to allow, heck even to encourage this kind of behaviour. Call it "economic darwinism" if you will.
Can't follow, okay.. look at gas as a drug, and look at Exxon/Mobil(E.M.) as a drug pusher. . . and to complete the metophor, let's say that the "dubya" is a corrupt police force. As long as we keep buying, needing, "fiending" for the drug, and as long as the corrupt police force gets his cut, the drug pushers are going to be in the school yard selling us their "product" for almost whatever price we want. So back to my first request, could we please destroy all cadilac escalades? And while I'm at it, could we please remove all big "thumping" sub woofers from every vehicle that doesn't have a nascar sticker on it? Okay, fine, let's compromise, let's just lobby for any vehicle that doesn't get better then 25mpg highway to either pay very high taxes, or be removed from the road as soon as is legistlatively possible?
As long as we keep buying, the pushers will keep selling. If we could all use more wisely, hopefully we'll be able to start being charged more reasonably?

If ya' know Me, then ya' know it gets random in this big ol' empty head of mine sometimes, so I'll drop off stuff here from time to time. Why not on the Yahoo any more? not sure, just figured I'd try this out. see what happens. if ya' think ya' know some other reason, chances are you're right ... LoL
